My name is Jessica Andre, I am in my senior year working to get my BA degree at Bridgewater State University in the Arts. My Major is called New Media Concentration, a major where traditional and digital styles of art are combined and manipulated to create more opportunities in the growing art field.
With a BA in New Media, my dream job is to work on Video Games in the growing Video game industry as a concept artist or character design artist. Though I do not have any coding abilities under my belt to create the actual movement and base of the game, but I am willing to learn. Animation is another dream job that I personally are leaning towards. Another amazing way of bringing something or someone to life through movement whether it's through stop motion, flip books, hand drawn, or even digitally through 3D puppets.

I love the idea of something you create becoming a young persons favorite character or inspiration for their own growing interest in the Arts. It gives them a character to relate to, or look up to even thought the characters are not real people. Sometimes people learn a lot more from the cartoons and show they watch as a child and young adult that would be harder on them in life if they didn't learn from another character's struggles.
Personally I grew up playing a lot of video games as well as watching cartoons and anime(foreign usually Japanese cartoons) from the 90's to today. Both made me want to do more than just work in a cubicle in a gloomy office for the rest of my life. They showed me new ideas, a thirst for adventure and the urge to attempt to draw my favorite characters, which at first looked horrible. BUT, just like the characters in the games and cartoons I continued to work hard to achieve my dreams by never giving up. It took years to achieve my own style and trust me, the progress was not pretty. Even now, my style is still changing and morphing as I continue my studies at Bridgewater. I plan to keep learning new styles of art in my last semesters, that can help me achieve my dreams, or even open my eyes to more interesting hobbies or side works.
